Getting started

Check in at 8am at Honokohau Marina North Boat Ramp, 74-381 Kealakehe Pkwy, Kailua Kona, Hawaii 96740. After turning into Honokohau Harbor, take the first right, follow the road as it veers left to the large parking lot, then park near the restrooms for free and meet your crew member by the pavilion next to the public restrooms. Departure from Honokohau Harbor is at 8:30am, and the catamaran returns at 12:30pm.

Sail from Honokohau Harbor toward Kealakekua Bay on a catamaran cruise on Kealakekua Bay, operating on the open ocean where water conditions may vary in the tropical Hawaii climate. The tour runs in the morning and is open to all ages, with no operation during the Ironman Championship.

Features

• Views along the route include the coastline around Kailua Kona, which lies 3.5 miles south of Honokohau Harbor, and the area 4.5 miles south of Kona Airport, giving you a sense of the island’s western shore from the water.

• For the Cruise with In-Water Snorkeling option, an in-water snorkeling session is included at Kealakekua Bay, while the Cruise Only - Stay Aboard (No Snorkeling) option lets you remain on deck and enjoy the scenic cruise only, with no in-water snorkeling.

• Snorkel, mask, fins, and a safety jacket are provided for guests who choose the in-water snorkeling session, so you do not need to bring your own basic gear.

• Lunch is included on board, with gourmet sandwiches and a choice of fresh fruit, along with snacks, juice and water such as a selection of chips and granola bars, so you have food and drinks throughout the cruise.

• Catamaran cruise on Kealakekua Bay, lunch, snacks, juice and water, an in-water snorkeling session as per option selected, and snorkel, mask, fins, safety jacket as per option selected are all part of this experience.

• Guests with meals for special dietary requirements or any special dietary restrictions should bring their own food, as these are not included.

• A swimsuit that you put on before departure, a change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, a warm long-sleeve jacket or sweatshirt, and motion sickness medicine taken at least an hour before the tour are recommended to match the changing tropical weather and open-ocean conditions.
