GroupVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5An exceptional and surprising site. Easy to access. The security checkpoint is staffed by vigilant but friendly agents, which is nice; The ticket validation process is also handled in a friendly manner, with a few tips for the visit. As for the current exhibits, they are spectacular—rich in color and music—and informative about the lives of these artists. It’s always a joy to visit this place.AArnaud P
CoupleVerified booking3 days ago4/5Why charge for parking when there’s a place to park closer by (and for free)? As for the reception area at the pool, nothing is explained (except where the restrooms are) Also, our appointment was at 2:00 p.m., and even though we arrived early, the Matisse session had already gotten well underway… too bad! On the plus side: it was really great! We were completely blown away.AAlison L
SoloVerified booking3 weeks ago5/5The site can be a bit intimidating to reach by public transportation—it’s a massive building where it’s not easy to find the entrance. But what a discovery lies within! It’s absolutely worth experiencing this majestic blend of stone, water, color, and light. It’s dark inside (naturally), but it’s spacious, and you have plenty of time to appreciate it at your own pace and in your own way.RRobert D
CoupleVerified bookingLast week5/5This was an excellent immersive experience which tells the story of two artists with music. The Matisse portion of the experience was outstanding as it used the words of Matisse which describes has life and the influence of travel on his us of colour. The presentation was evocative, well put together. Easy to book online and great value for moneySSebile J
GroupVerified bookingLast week4/5A very enjoyable, cool tour in a place steeped in history. The projections are beautiful, with different views and reflections in the water across the three pools... However, the projections take a while to start, and the transitions between them aren’t smooth. A few commercials and the credits also detract from the immersive experience.
Getting started
Arrive at Bassins des Lumières at the time shown on your ticket and head straight to the main entrance. Scan your ticket, pass a quick security check, and step directly into the digital exhibition space.
What to expect
Walk through vast halls where towering walls and reflective water basins transform into moving canvases of light, color, and music. Watch Matisse’s vibrant compositions and Frida Kahlo’s powerful imagery unfold around you in a continuous 360° visual and sound journey. The open layout lets you linger, move closer to details, or simply sit and absorb the spectacle at your own pace.
