Explore the castle's ramparts, which are fine specimens of Neapolitan military architecture.
Castel Sant'Elmo offers the best viewpoints in the city of Naples. The castle, perched atop Vomero Hill, provides a breathtaking view, stretching from the Sorrento Peninsula to Mount Vesuvius. This castle in Naples attracts tourists because of its elevated location and hexagonal star shape. It also affords a view of the neighboring Abbey of San Martino, an iconic landmark of the city.
