Visiting the Acropolis in Athens was an absolutely incredible experience. Standing at the heart of such rich history, surrounded by breathtaking ancient architecture, truly felt like stepping back in time. The Parthenon was even more majestic in person than I imagined, and the views over the city of Athens from the top were unforgettable. The atmosphere was vibrant, with visitors from all around the world, yet there was also a deep sense of awe and respect for the site’s cultural importance. Walking among ruins that have stood for thousands of years was both humbling and inspiring. It’s a must-see if you’re in Athens, whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates beauty and culture. The Acropolis left me amazed, and I’ll remember this visit for a lifetime.

We have wanted to see the Parthenon for many years. Our guide was a passionate ex school teacher whose love of her country's history and mythology was so apparent that it was hard not to be swept up into passionate. She was articulate, answered our many questions and kept a great pace despite crowds. The museum was amazing and her explanations of items really helped piece together the whole experience. Would give 5 stars based on out guide and I am so sorry I dont recall her name, however, both entry to the Parthenon and Acroploic were a bit pricey. I would suggest the guided tour with this company bit maybe the museum on your own

We had a tour for 10 am on Oct 1. All went very well considering there was a transportation strike happening that day and the Acropolis didn't open until 9:30. We were fine with our group. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Lots of information about Myths and actual history and how they overlap. It is a bit of a climb up to the Acropolis but we had lots of stops to view other interesting items such as the theatres and get the history of them..

We had the most wonderful experience touring the Acropolis and Parthenon with Eirini. She was incredibly knowledgeable with historical context and fascinating details that really brought the site to life. What made it even better was her warmth and wit, she made centuries of history feel engaging and alive. It made the visit to the Acropolis very memorable. Highly recommend Eirini to anyone wanting to experience Athens with depth and personality!

As a first time solo traveller and first time using a tour to sightsee, I had a blast! The tour guide was so lovely and very informative and she made sure everyone was still together and stopped to rest when needed. She was very knowledgeable and answered all questions, the tour took 4 hours but it didn't feel like it at all, would highly recommend.

The tour of the Acropolis was good although hearing was difficult when our guide wasn't talking directly into microphone. At the end of the museum tour, our guide left us on the top floor with a group ticket, instead of individual tickets - so we were forced to share that ticket with strangers and could not finish visiting the museum on our own.
  • Here’s how you’ll spend your day exploring Athens' most iconic landmarks, the Acropolis, Theater of Dionysus, and Ancient Agora, with an expert guide, immersing yourself in 2500 years of history and culture.

    Getting started

Your adventure begins when you meet your guide at the designated spot near the Acropolis. Once your group gathers, your guide gives a brief overview and leads you to explore one of the world’s most significant historical sites.

    What to expect

    The Acropolis

The Acropolis is a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the Parthenon, an ancient citadel that was once the heart of Athenian life and remains a powerful symbol of classical Greek culture and democracy. Your guide brings the Acropolis to life, sharing captivating stories about the Parthenon’s role in ancient Greek democracy, the myth of Athena and Poseidon’s rivalry, and the architectural genius behind the Temple of Athena Nike.

Explore landmarks like the Erechtheion, famous for its Caryatid columns, and pass through the grand Propylaea gateway with sweeping views of Athens. Visit the Theater of Dionysus, where ancient dramas were performed, and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a beautifully preserved amphitheater still used for performances today.

    Acropolis Museum

Explore the Acropolis Museum, home to a remarkable collection of artifacts from the Parthenon and other ancient structures. Check out the Parthenon Marbles and see the restored Frieze of the Parthenon, which vividly depicts Athenian life and traditions.

    Ancient Agora

Depending on the tour you choose, after visiting the Acropolis, your guide will take you to the Ancient Agora, once the vibrant heart of ancient Athens’ political, social, and commercial life. As you explore the Agora, your guide will bring the bustling marketplace to life, pointing out where Socrates and other famous philosophers once debated and where citizens gathered to discuss politics and daily affairs.

Just a short walk from the ruins, step into the Stoa of Attalos, a reconstructed building that now houses the Museum of the Ancient Agora. Inside, your guide will highlight key artifacts—statues, inscriptions, and everyday objects—that offer a glimpse into ancient Athenian life. The tour also includes a visit to the Temple of Hephaestus, one of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples, dedicated to the god of craftsmanship and metalworking.

    Temple of Poseidon

Depending on the tour you choose, you can visit the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion with a guide by your side. Walk among its 2,400-year-old marble columns, learn about its role in Greek mythology and naval history, and soak in the stunning sunset Aegean views!

    Old Town

On private tours, your guide will take you through Athens’ charming Old Town and share stories about the city’s evolution, pointing out local tavernas, artisanal boutiques, and hidden gems.
