The play of light filtering down from above and the warm hues of the rock make for breathtaking photos, even with a smartphone. The tours are run exclusively by members of the local tribe; the guides are fantastic at explaining the area’s geology, sharing legends, and showing you exactly where to stand to get the perfect shot. A top-notch experience.

This is a smaller tour, and as such, there is a much more personal "feel" to the experience. Our guide, Alex, an exceptional young woman, provided a thorough and educational description and explanation of the land and how the local Native Americans view, respect, and live in the area. She provided an extensive history of the region, explaining local superstitions and traditions. The walk through the canyon was fantastic, while the lighting for photography was almost perfect. NOTE: While my two grown sons, wife, and I had no problem navigating the narrows, this is not for everyone. There are ladders to be climbed, and in places it does become very narrow.

Touching the sandstone walls of the canyon is strongly discouraged because natural oils and moisture can accelerate the erosion process.

Walking sticks, canes, and walkers are not allowed inside.

Large bags and items like selfie sticks or tripods are not permitted.

Filming is not allowed, but photography is encouraged.

Drones, selfie sticks, tripods, and flash photography are not allowed on this experience.

Food & beverages or alcohol are not allowed on the tour. A small, reusable water bottle is allowed.

Sharp metallic tools or objects are prohibited.

You cannot bring your pets along for this tour.

For health and safety reasons, this experience is not allowed for guests under the age of 6 years.
