Our guide Pam was great; she was very knowledgeable about all the pieces in the gallery. She made sure our group was able to get positioned for a good view of the most popular pieces so we could get some pictures. Finally, she stayed a bit longer to show us a secret passage for the Medici family.

Prima di entrare nella galleria ci ha spiegato la storia dell'alleanza felice tra il ducato di Firenze e l'impero spagnolo così da comprendere meglio tutta la magnicenza che ci circondava. Luigia ha risposto a tutte le nostre numerose domande, preparatissima, alla mano e ci ha fornito consigli utili per terminare la visita da soli nel museo e per le potenziali tappe in città preziose a livello artistico. La sua presenza è stata preziosissima per trasformare la ns visita in qs che ricorderemo con emozione. Il costo sembrava elevato ma si è rivelato un vero investimento per me e i miei due ragazzi alla ricerca di Bellezza.

Manuela was the star of my party's trip to Florence. She was very personable and engaging without being familiar. She was soon characterised as a very professional and scholarly Art historian, deeply versed in the Renaissance and its painters. Her explanation of how (and why) the Renaissance artists broke with the Church traditions of the earlier periods was masterly and worthy of a full TV program, along with her detailed and intricate analysis of Giotto, Leonardo, Michelangelo and finally Raphael's painting. I thoroughly recommend her as a guide who loved the art she described, leaving us all feeling much more knowledgeable and wise.

Re-entry is not allowed once you leave the gallery.

Shutterbugs take note, flash photography and drones are prohibited in the gallery.

You cannot bring outside food or drinks into the gallery.

Leave your furry friends behind, the venue does not allow pets except for service animals with advance notice.

Additional information

Every first Sunday of the month, the museum follows normal opening hours and entry is free for everyone.

All visitors must leave umbrellas, large bags, and backpacks in the cloakroom located near the museum entrance. The use of the cloakroom is free.

Please note that all visitors to the museum must go through the security check. At the busiest times, the line for the check takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
