Today we visited Pompeii ruins. So much to see. 9 hours and still didn't see everything. This is our 2nd Headout purchase. The 1st was Vatican City. We purchased skip the line with audio. The skip the line was great! The audio tour was lacking, so we decided to not use it. Each highlight was barely 30 seconds. Pompeii on the other hand was excellent! Skipped the line, walked right in. Audio guide was amazing. One and a half to 2 minute details on like 200 ish sites inside, including navigation to a site if you needed it. Only issue with the audio guide was continuous audio, as if you had a pre-planned direction. The audio continues to talk about sites you have not or are not currently visiting because you are still at the previous site. Overall I still love it. Great purchase!

Ayer mi marido y yo hicimos el tour por Pompeya y fue una experiencia fantástica. Inicialmente lo teníamos reservado en inglés, pero muy amablemente nos lo cambiaron a español en el último momento, algo que agradecimos muchísimo. Nuestro guía hizo que la visita fuera muy dinámica, entretenida y llena de información interesante. A pesar del intenso calor que hace en Pompeya, el tiempo se pasó volando y, sin darnos cuenta, ya habían pasado las dos horas del recorrido.

Llegamos al sitio de encuentro y fue muy fácil de encontrar, la visita fenomenal, me encantó cada paso descubriendo la historia fascinante de este lugar donde descubres la fragilidad del ser humano, durante el recorrido observar el cadáver de un asno fue impresionante pero mi momento favorito fue en el anticuario al conocer el perro atada y los habitantes de Pompeya que aún enseñan tanto de su vida tras tantos siglos de ocurrido el hecho. Lo recomiendo

Disappointed with not receiving the audio guide to use while at Pompeii. Lots of mucking around at Pompeii trying to figure out where to get the audio guide. After contacting the support team and repeating myself over and over, I got disconnected as there was not good reception there. We left frustrated and did not enjoy our experience because of this. The ruins were amazing, but the experience was less than impressive. I don't recommend booking this!

La experiencia ha sido muy buena, la ubicación para recoger los tickets no era exactamente donde nos conducía Google maps, pero había personas pendientes preguntando si íbamos con headout y enseguida nos dieronnlos tickets impresos. Después solo hemos tenido que pasar por la entrada evitando las colas. Y sobre Pompeya, nada que decir, hay que ir a verlo, es increíble que después de tantos años este tan bien conservado. Nos ha encantado la visita.

I really enjoyed this tour with a local archaeologist who had worked in Pompei. Tbh, you would be lost without a guide in this vast city which had remained uncovered for over 1500 years. He showed us the locsl bakery, gymnasium, brothel (yes!!) and many more houses and sights that you wouldn't discover alone without a lot of reading and luck. I'd definitely recommend this tour. Also, ignore the peddlars at the train station.

- Einzigartig gut erhaltene antike Stadt - Faszinierende Einblicke in das Alltagsleben der Römer - Beeindruckende Straßen, Villen, Fresken und Amphitheater -UNESCO-Welterbe mit großem historischem Wert - Im Sommer sehr heiß und oft überfüllt - Das Gelände ist riesig – für einen Besuch sollte man mindestens 4–6 Stunden einplanen - Teilweise unebene Wege, daher gutes Schuhwerk empfehlenswert

We paid the for most expensive ticket and it was so worth it. Pompeii was an absolute incredible experience to walk the streets of an ancient city and to see the devastation that was left behind. I would 100% recommend everyone to go to Pompeii to walk the streets, and to go inside the museum section to see what was left behind.

Pompeii is amazing, but it's massive and you'll need time. The archaelogist guide was fabulous and was able to answer whatever anything we put to her. 2 hours with her was not enough but it gave us a really good knowledge to roam around and see more for ourselves. Would highly recommend it!

What to bring

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience. If you are given a physical audio guide, ensure you arrive prepared with wired earphones (3.5mm jack).

A moderate amount of walking is involved in this activity. Please wear comfortable shoes due to uneven terrain.

Full names are mandatory for Pompeii bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.

Additional information

Facilities: cloakroom, luggage storage. Head to the Superiore Entrance to make use of the onsite luggage facilities.

The fee for the excavation sites of Pompeii is free for all first Sundays of the month.

Children under 18 enjoy free entry with a valid ID.

If you’re an EU citizen aged 18-24, you can avail the ticket at €2.

The same discount applies if you’re a non-EU citizen with a valid Italian residence permit (for study, work, family reasons, etc., as recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
