I recently visited Qasr Al Watan—the majestic "Palace of the Nation" in Abu Dhabi—and it was an unforgettable journey through architecture, history, and cultural pride. From the moment you step off the shuttle from the Visitor Centre, the palace's façade—gleaming with white granite and limestone—sets the tone for something extraordinary. Inside, the soaring Great Hall takes your breath away. A dome nearly 37 m across floats above, surrounded by mirrored cubes and mosaic marble. At first it was very overwhelming, the sheer size and scale of the building (once inside). After a while you get used to it. Magnificent architecture, literally a masterpiece. What I found the most interesting was the collection of historical literary artefacts. Our little two year old had such fun running around and making buddies with the security staff.

Qasr Al Watan
Nestled in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan is a presidential palace that was recently opened to the public. One of the finest examples of Arabic architecture and craftsmanship, the palace's design signifies its heritage and its future vision. The palace has its own library with books on a wide range of subjects including archeology, history, heritage, memoirs, biographies, human and social sciences, statistics, administration, culture, literature, arts, etc. It also has its own gift shops; one at the Visitors Center and the other at the palace building. One of the major attractions of the palace is its light and sound show, which depicts the history and growth of the UAE as a nation. This show has been divided into three acts; past, present, and future.
