Tarragona Walking Tour with Roman Circus Vaults and Pretorius Tower Entry

Join us for a pleasant walking tour starting at the Roman city walls. We will enter the walled Old City through the Portal del Roser gate and then visit the model of the city on the second century A.D., where you will easily visualize the layout of Tarragona during its Roman splendor, what's more we will watch an informative video which has virtual images of the period. We will stroll through picturesque medieval streets to reach the Cathedral, a magnificent blend of 12th and 13th-century Gothic and Romanesque architecture built on top of a Roman temple. Then we will go up the Pretorius Tower, a lookout point offering the best views of the city and its typical rooftops, the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. We will also visit the fascinating vaults under the Roman Circus, the site of horse-drawn chariot races and one of the best preserved in the world. We will climb to the top of a Roman tower for a stunning 360º view of the coastline, the harbour, and the Amphitheater. The "Castells'' are a deeply-rooted Catalan tradition, and we will explain it to you with the help of some large photos in the building where the castellers train.
