Pitstop at Cultural Sites

The 18th-century Daienji Temple, filled with statues and deities stores many stories of the country’s past. Learn about the Edo period in Japan and how the temple was built as an ode to those lost in a tragic fire. Pay your respects at the revered temple, and carry your tour forward to the first general wedding hall in Japan called Hotel Gajoen Tokyo. View the dignified decorations adorning the interiors of the halls, also called “Ryukyu Castle in Showa”. The place drew in all sorts of people — politicians, people from higher classes, and even ordinary folk. In 2009, 4 of the 7 banquet halls were appointed as tangible cultural properties by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
