Universal Studios Japan is a truly impressive experience, especially if you love theme parks and the world of cinema. The sets are ultra-immersive, especially Super Nintendo World, which really gives the impression of stepping into a video game. Attractions are varied, combining thrills with more narrative experiences. Organization is generally good, even if waiting times can be long at peak times. The atmosphere, music and attention to detail make for a memorable visit, and are clearly worth a detour during a stay in Japan.

Express ticket made it a great experience, saved time waiting in line. Our favorite ride was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Our favorite area was Super Nintendo World - it was a dream come true seeing our favorite game come to life! Overall, it was crowded but not horrible. It was cramped in some shops/areas but we did not have to wait too long to check out.

Excellent pass that made a very busy, full on day much easier to navigate and much more pleasant. Every line we saw was minimum one hour. Being able to save that time that would have been wasted simply waiting made the day really fun. It's expensive, but if you're only planning on coming here once, it's absolutely worth it.

    Studio Pass (park entry)

    • You will receive a QR code on the Headout app.

    • Scan the QR code at the park entrance.

    • No physical ticket/barcode is provided. Use only the QR code.

    Express Pass (skip waiting lines at rides)

    • You will receive a separate QR code for your express pass.

    • Scan directly at the entrance of each eligible ride.

    • You can only access each ride once with the Express Pass QR code.

    • 1-day entry to Universal Studios Japan

    • 1 x 1-Day Studio Pass QR – park entry providing access to all attractions

    • 1 x Express Pass QR – skip the lines at select rides (one time each) & timed-entry for Super Nintendo World™ + Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ (as per option selected)

    • Time slots for rides included in your express pass are allocated at random by the park.

    Visiting Universal Studios Japan was overall a very memorable experience, with several truly outstanding attractions. Rides like The Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey were absolutely top level and alone made the day worth it. The theming, organization and general atmosphere of the park are excellent, and everything feels immersive and extremely well maintained. I also appreciated how smooth the experience was with an Express Pass, which really helps reduce stress and long waiting times on the main attractions. Even visiting part of the park on my own, the experience never felt awkward or boring — the atmosphere, music and ride design make it enjoyable even as a solo visitor. In some ways, being alone made it easier to move freely and fully enjoy the attractions. That said, not everything lived up to the hype. Super Nintendo World is visually impressive, but the main ride (Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge) felt overrated compared to the extremely long waiting time. While the environment is beautiful, the queue-to-reward ratio was disappointing, especially when compared to the quality and thrill of other rides in the park. Overall, Universal Studios Japan offers several world-class attractions and is absolutely worth visiting, particularly for thrill ride lovers and Harry Potter fans. My advice is to prioritize the major rides, manage expectations for the most hyped areas, and not hesitate to visit even solo. Despite a few letdowns, it was a great and intense day that I will remember.

    The experience, the rides and the enjoyment I had was incredible. My favourite ride was the flying dinosaur, I don't think I'd experience it in the Gold Coast, despite us having the Biggest Roller Coaster in the Southern Hemisphere. This theme park is second-to-none compared to the previous ones I've been to

    Last year when we went to Tokyo Disneyland, I regretted not being able to experience all the attractions. Therefore, I didn't hesitate to buy the Fastpass package when I came to Universal Studios Japan this year. This allows for more time to enjoy all the attractions. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

    • It will be required for wheelchair users to switch to the seats in the attraction.

    • It is required to get in touch with a crew member for guests with a wig, prosthetic limb, plaster cast, or a medical assistant tool.

    • This experience is not the best fit for people with abnormal blood pressure, cardiac issues, back, neck, hip, or spinal disorders, motion sickness, vertigo, claustrophobia, acrophobia, and pregnant women.

    • This experience is not suitable for people who have medical conditions that could be aggravated by loud sounds, fog, pitch-black darkness, strobes, and strong smells.
