Nobuko Imai
Japanese violist Nobuko Imai has an extensive career as a chamber musician and soloist. Known for her sharp performances of Mozart and Beethoven, this illustrious musician is the founder and a member of the Michaelangelo Quartet, has worked with the world’s most distinguished musicians including Alessio Bax, Ronald Brautigam, Ivo Jansen and Mischa Maisky, and has performed with the world’s major orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Weiner Symphoniker. Known for her innovative approach, Nobuko Imai’s unique accomplishments include creating viola adaptations of works for the cello.
