    What’s not allowed

    • Large bags, suitcases, or oversized luggage can’t be brought inside, but smaller bags are fine.

    • Pets are not allowed at the museum.

    • Food and drinks aren’t permitted in the exhibit areas, so save your snacks for after your visit.

    • Smoking and e-cigarettes aren’t allowed anywhere inside the museum.

    • Flash photography, tripods, and professional filming gear should stay packed away to protect the exhibits.

    Accessibility

    • The Field Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramps and elevators throughout the building.

    • Accessible restrooms are available on every level for your convenience.

    • Registered service animals are welcome to accompany visitors at all times.

    Additional information

    • The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day (November 27) and Christmas Day (December 25), so plan your visit accordingly.
