We had a wonderful day at Edinburgh Zoo for my grandson’s very first visit to the city. At just two years old, it was all so new and exciting for him — from watching the penguins to exploring the different animals, everything captured his attention. The zoo is well laid out, with lots to see and plenty of space for little ones to run around safely. For me, it was special to see Edinburgh through his eyes, and the zoo made a perfect introduction. Staff were friendly, the enclosures looked well cared for, and there was a real sense of fun and learning throughout. It’s a place I’d happily recommend to families — especially those with young children. We’ll definitely be back as he grows older to experience even more of what the zoo has to offer.

When we arrived at the zoo we were immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The young lady then organised mobility scooters for us, talked us through the safety use of the scooter, they are so easy to use and made it a most enjoyable day, we could not have seen all the animals without the use of scooters. We found ALL staff members very helpful and friendly, stopped at the Penguin cafe for lunch which was very good. We did enjoy watching the penguins and a very helpful member of staff explained the different penguins they have. I would recommend a day at the zoo to everybody.

Zoo is really good, very well maintained. I loved the way maps are being created, how animals were cared. My kid has enjoyed like anything. Thanks for the good time we had in zoo. And the customizing gift options were amazing. We printed a bottle for our memory

I have a large family(9 children 3-16yrs) the zoo tickets were expensive for 8 out of 9 children and 2 adults. We expected to see more animals, however seems to be less than most farm parks in Scotland. Wee beasties was a big let down a handful of frogs, beetles, a tarantula and a snake. Most wee beastie school visits have 3 times the amount of critters. The essence of a traditional zoo has been lost here. The penguins were the only real highlight the children enjoyed. The gift shop was also expensive. All in with a lunch at gannets this trip from dumfries (2hours) walk round in 2hours has cost just short of £500!! It was cheaper for our family and a better experience to goto a certain safari park in wiltshire with a campsite stayover!

The orientation given by the onfield staff was so helpful for us being our first time in the Zoo. Also there were people or staff designated at various areas of the zoo and that made our day a fulfilled one. The kids love every of the experience. Thank you.
