The information about what exactly I am buying is a bit underestimated. The information what everything is on the site and what everything I can visit within the ticket is not crystal clear. Regarding Headout, I would just say you are ok, reselling a ticket. But what would make you really special? If you would give me an info about the locals, their tricks and how they are trying to constantly get some money from me. Even the "official" guides they sold me something really cheap like a trip maybe five times more expensive! It is my fault I do not have the information, but Headout would be really special to make a section where they give the person useful advices what to avoid, how much things costs - like for example a horse ride or a camel, etc.

Seeing the pyramids and learning about a history that goes back 4,000 years is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and this is definitely the best way to do it. Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend having a guide to fully live and understand the experience. One important note: the inside of the pyramids is very narrow. You walk in two lines, almost crouching, on a sloped passage, with limited air circulation (and there can also be a strong smell of sweat). So if you suffer from claustrophobia or are afraid of enclosed spaces, I would not recommend going inside.

With the ticket, I was able to enter the site directly - with the help of my hotel. I visited the Cheops Pyramid intensively, the Chefren quickly and the Sphinx could be seen in a short time anyway. The very poor signposting at the entrance to the interior of the Cheops Pyramid was not good. I had booked at very short notice and wifi doesn't work there at all. As I had not downloaded the voucher, I was unfortunately not allowed inside the pyramid.

Admission to the Giza complex was completely straightforward. The free shuttle buses arrived quickly. You could also walk there. The site could do with a little more maintenance, but the experience of seeing the pyramids and the Sphinx is unique. The Pyramid of Cheops is amazing, but the way inside, where you have to bend down and the air is poor, is not easy. But it's a must-see. All in all, 4 out of 5 stars.

We hired a driver to do the inside the Great Pyramid at Giza experience. The driver was prompt, friendly and flexible with our drop off time. We had enough time to see everything we wanted and still able to leave earlier than the pre-designated time to return to our hotel. Highly recommend.

It's very convenient to buy tickets in advance to avoid queues and language problems. The only thing is that they sent me tickets with a different name on them, and when I pointed this out, they told me it didn't matter. Surprising. That said, I would recommend it.

Easy access. Great site with good transport. Inside the tomb is not for the faint hearted however.

What to bring

Bring your mobile ticket (covers entry to the Giza Complex and interior access to the Great Pyramid).

Bring a hat and sunscreen as the area is mostly open desert.

Accessibility

The Giza Complex has limited wheelchair access. Some viewpoints near the Sphinx are partially accessible, but the surrounding terrain is sandy and uneven. Pyramid interiors are not wheelchair-accessible.

At the Giza Complex, two pyramids are walkable, but visiting the Pyramid of Menkaure requires a camel, horse, or carriage ride (EGP 500 extra), so bring local cash.

During the holy month of Ramadan (Feb 18 to March 18), operating hours for the Pyramids of Giza are from 8am-4pm.
