My wife and I visited Portugal for the first time in April 2026. Our guided tour with a private company was canceled due to Good Friday services. The monastery is beautiful. Although we bought tickets in advance, we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes, but all the information was clear and well organized. The place is well worth it. We found parking at the contemporary art museum right next door.

The "open" ticket for São Jorge Castle and the Lisbon City Tour was great. Not so great was the fact that the Monastery of Jerónimos was scheduled to open at 12:30 p.m., and we ended up waiting in line for over an hour.

Hello I think it's a shame that pre-booking a ticket doesn't offer any more benefits than buying one on-site. Also, there are different lines depending on the time of day, and this isn't clearly marked—I didn't notice it and ended up in the wrong line. I didn't receive the audio guide that was included in my ticket price. So, it was a mixed experience.
