I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide (I think his name was Sedat) told us lots of interesting information about the palace. The hour flew by. Afterwards, you can explore much more of the palace with the audio guide. I recommend allowing at least another two hours for the visit.

After a three-hour walking tour in the morning, we arrived tired at Topkapi in the afternoon. But Ozzy was an excellent guide. He highlighted the key sights and entertained us with anecdotal information. Personally, I wouldn’t have minded if the tour had lasted longer than an hour.

From the very beginning, it was clear that we were in the hands of someone deeply knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely passionate about Ottoman history. What could have been “just” a beautiful palace visit turned into a vivid journey through centuries of empire, politics, intrigue, and culture. The way Haluk explained the Harem, the many buildings and their purpose, and the daily life of the sultans was both intellectually rich and engaging. Every question was answered thoughtfully, with context and depth. Beyond expertise, the pacing was perfect — never rushed, yet never overwhelming. The palace complex houses hundreds of chambers, rooms, and gardens, and the most important ones are accessible to the public. Your ticket includes a fast track admission into the historic attraction, saving you nearly 2 hours of time With an expert historian guide by your side, you can learn some of the greatest secrets of the Ottomans.

The tour will begin at the Topkapi cafe/Meeting Pub OUTSIDE Topkapi Palace. You will hear engrossing tales as you pass through each of the famous gates and learn surprising facts and details of legendary figures.

The final stop is at the Imperial Harem, where your guide will entertain you with some more legends and myths about the attraction. By the end of the tour, you will have had a much better understanding of Ottoman history!

Wear comfortable footwear as there is a moderate amount of walking involved.

While the ticket ensures that you skip the entry lines, you cannot avoid the security lines. This can take up to 30 minutes during peak season.
