Pro tips to help you make a pick

Book tickets in advance: To avoid long queues, especially during peak seasons, it's advisable to purchase tickets to the Tokyo Skytree online in advance. This not only secures your spot but also often allows for a smoother entry process.

Consider combo tickets: Tokyo Skytree offers combo tickets that include access to both the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria and also combines other Tokyo attractions. These tickets are a great value, allowing you to experience the tower's full height and the stunning views from both observation decks.

Visit during off-peak hours: For a more relaxed experience with fewer crowds, consider visiting Toky Skytree during off-peak hours, typically early in the morning or later in the evening. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends.

Check for special events: Tokyo Skytree hosts various events and seasonal illuminations. Check the official website or social media channels for any special events during your visit to enhance your experience.

Explore Tokyo Solamachi: Located at the base of Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Solamachi is a shopping and entertainment complex worth exploring. It offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and even an aquarium, adding more dimensions to your visit.

Dining with a view: For a unique dining experience, consider having a meal at one of Tokyo Skytree’s restaurants, which offer delicious food along with panoramic views of the city.

Use public transport: Tokyo Skytree is easily accessible via public transport. The nearest train station is Oshiage Station, which is connected to several lines, making it convenient to reach from different parts of Tokyo.

Did you know?

The Tokyo Skytree's height of 634 meters is a deliberate choice, as '634' can be pronounced as 'Mu-sa-shi' in Japanese, a nod to the historic name of the region where the tower stands.

Inside the Tokyo Skytree, there's a unique glass floor section on the Tembo Deck, allowing visitors to look straight down to the base of the tower, providing a thrilling perspective of its towering height.

Tokyo Skytree features a seismic proofing design, incorporating a central shaft made of reinforced concrete that acts like a giant pendulum, ensuring stability during earthquakes, a vital feature in earthquake-prone Japan.

The Tokyo Skytree isn't just for observation and tourism; it plays a crucial role in broadcasting, serving as a digital terrestrial television broadcasting tower for the Kanto region, replacing Tokyo Tower in this role.

The color of Tokyo Skytree, officially named "Skytree White," is inspired by the traditional Japanese color 'aijiro,' a pale indigo hue that blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape and changes subtly with the daylight.

Why visit Tokyo Skytree?

World's tallest broadcasting tower

Tokyo Skytree holds the title of the world's tallest freestanding broadcasting tower, reaching a height of 634 meters. This architectural marvel not only offers a stunning view of the Tokyo skyline but also stands as a symbol of Japan's technological advancement.

Panoramic views of Tokyo

Tokyo Skytree features two observation decks, Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria, offering breathtaking views of Tokyo and beyond. On clear days, visitors can even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji.

Cultural and shopping hub

At the base of Tokyo Skytree lies Tokyo Solamachi, a shopping and entertainment complex with over 300 shops and restaurants. It offers a wide range of Japanese souvenirs, exclusive merchandise, and culinary delights, making it a paradise for shoppers and foodies alike.

Seasonal events and illuminations

Tokyo Skytree hosts various seasonal events and illuminations throughout the year, transforming the tower with spectacular light displays. These events are often themed around Japanese culture and festivals, offering visitors a chance to experience Japan's rich traditions and seasonal changes in a modern, urban setting.

Skytree Café and restaurants

For a unique dining experience, the Skytree's Café 350 and restaurants provide not just delicious food but also stunning views. Visitors can enjoy a meal or a coffee while overlooking the city from above, making it a perfect spot for a memorable lunch, dinner, or just a quick break to soak in the views.

Visiting the Skytree is definitely a stop worth adding to a trip in Tokyo! The view of the huge city is really worth seeing and very impressive! On a good day you can even get a glimpse of Mount Fuji! I recommend going twice, once during the day and then once at night! At night you can see all the lights of Tokyo

Tickets were easy to buy and easy to access. We were debating skipping Tokyo SKYTREE, but the reviews helped and the views did not disappoint! We spent about almost 2 hours enjoying the view from multiple decks. There was a coffee shop, restuarant, and gift shop to keep us busy while we watched the sun set. Just beautiful!

Tokyo Skytree was a treat! I've never ridden in such beautiful elevators. There are four elevators from the bottom to the second highest level, and each one represents one of the four seasons, so make sure to ride in each one. The staff was very helpful and accompanying with all my questions. You're able to get a 360° view of the Tokyo skyline AND they have a cafe at the top with adult beverages. I enjoyed the view in the cafe and I ran into a famous television star (I won't say who). There are certain spots with thick glass panels that you can stand on so you're able to look straight down! Not for the faint of heart. All in all a very pleasant and fun experience seeing the Tokyo skyline at night and I would go again with more time to look!
