A visit to the Belvedere in Vienna is an absolute must for any art lover. I was particularly interested in seeing Gustav Klimt’s "Judith", which is truly incredible, the shimmer of the gold and the intensity of the expression are even more breathtaking in person. The overall organization of the museum is top-notch, and I highly appreciated the stewards in the queue who were very helpful in managing the flow of visitors. Additionally, the staff in the shop were lovely and assisted me kindly with leaving my luggage in the lockers. The palace interiors are simply dazzling, providing a stunning backdrop to the world-class collection. Even though there is ongoing renovation work on the facade of one wing, the tour proceeds without any obstacles or disruptions. I also found the temporary exhibition very engaging, and the audio description guide in English was excellent—clear, informative, and very well-produced. It was a flawless cultural experience despite the minor construction outside.

My visit to the Upper Belvedere in Vienna was a surprise gift for our 20th anniversary—and it turned out to be absolutely perfect. I expected a nice museum visit, but I didn’t realize how many treasures were waiting inside. Admiring original works by Gustav Klimt in such a beautiful, historic setting was unforgettable. The collection also includes masterpieces by artists like van Gogh, Monet, and Munch, making it a truly rich experience. The most striking moment for me was a painting of a woman in a black dress—the textures of the fabric and jewelry felt almost three-dimensional, as if they were coming out of the canvas. Beyond the art itself, the whole experience—from the atmosphere of the palace to a classic Viennese coffee and strudel afterward—made this visit deeply emotional and memorable. recommended, especially if you appreciate art and want something truly special in Vienna. Headout, thank you for easy and clear access.

Really enjoyed the insights provided by our guide. So much to take in but the highlights she presented to us in a succinct and easily understood style made the visit just perfect. The section on Klimt was first class, her panoramic picture tip an added "extra" and her suggestion to walk down through the gardens to the city rounded off a visit beyond expectation.

Visiting Vienna’s Belvedere Palace was simply an extraordinary experience. This magnificent Baroque complex is a true gem: the two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, are connected by spectacular gardens, impeccably maintained and offering views that look like something out of a painting. Strolling among the fountains, statues, and geometric pathways is a unique experience in itself. Inside, you enter a world of pure art and history: elegant halls, ornate ceilings, and an incredible collection that includes masterpieces like Klimt’s The Kiss. Every room tells a story and makes you feel part of Vienna’s imperial grandeur. A very special thank you also goes to the receptionist, who was incredibly kind and helpful: he helped me fix a mistake in my reservation (I had the wrong date!) and managed to reschedule it without any issues. A gesture that truly made a difference and made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended to anyone passing through Vienna: it’s a must-see!

Upper Belvedere Palace is one of the best places to visit in Vienna, especially if you love art. The palace itself is beautiful, but the real highlight is the incredible collection inside. The museum has other impressive pieces by Klimt, along with works by Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, and many important Austrian artists. Even if you’re not usually into museums, the mix of world-class art and stunning palace rooms makes it a really special experience. You get to enjoy masterpieces while walking through elegant historic halls, which makes it feel more exciting than a typical gallery. The gardens outside are also worth exploring and give you a nice break after the exhibitions. They’re peaceful and beautiful. Overall, Upper Belvedere Palace is a must-see in Vienna!

I used to be the kind of person who didn’t understand how anyone could get emotional over art. That changed the moment I visited Belvedere Museum. From the start, everything felt effortless. The line moved quickly, the staff were helpful, and the whole experience was smooth. But once I stepped inside, I was completely overwhelmed in the best way. The collection is incredible, with works by Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, and many others. Standing in front of The Kiss was a moment I didn’t expect. I actually cried. It felt surreal to finally see something I had wanted to experience for so long. If you are visiting Vienna, this place is not optional. It is a must. Easily the best money I have ever spent.

We thought we’d see some more beautiful rooms. The architecture and history of the buildings were important to us, but the audio guide didn’t mention any of that! It only provided descriptions of the pictures!

A wonderful experience of walking the Belvedere gardens and admiring the art exhibitons in both, Upper and Lower Belvedere.
  • A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Belvedere Palace is also the site of the Austrian State Treaty. Consisting of two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, and extensive gardens the unique complex is one of the world's most supreme specimens of a Baroque architectural ensemble.

    The Upper Belvedere

For an artistic retreat, the Upper Belvedere is the perfect getaway! The Upper Belvedere is one of the most prominent museums across the globe, with famous art collections dating back to the Middle Ages. Highlights include the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings (including The Kiss and Judith), famous works from the periods of Austrian Baroque, French Impressionism, Viennese Biedermeier, and from Vienna around 1900. You can also admire works by Austrian artists like Rueland Frueauf the Elder, Elena Luksch-Makowsky, and Helene Funke, apart from international artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Auguste Rodin.

    The Lower Belvedere

Calling all history lovers, the Lower Belvedere is a treasure trove that will take you back in time! Located in Vienna, the majestic Lower Belvedere Palace is a magnificent 18th-century structure that now serves as an exhibition center. Focusing on Austrian artists within an international context and showcasing pivotal works of Western art history, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was originally built for the diplomat and collector Prince Eugene of Savoy to admire his exceptional Baroque architecture collection. Opt for the direct entry ticket to either Upper or Lower Belvedere Palace, to save time and choose what you'd like to see.
