Getting started

If you select the Playa del Carmen departure, your half-day begins with pickup by an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel or designated meeting point. For Tulum hotels, you make your own way to the Tulum meeting point at Hotel Andreas at the specified time. From your starting point, you travel by road to Akumal Beach, where you meet your aquatic guide and prepare for the water.

Akumal Beach

Akumal Beach is the setting for your sea turtle encounter, combining guided time in the water with free time on the sand.

Features

• Swim and snorkel with turtles in their natural environment as your aquatic guide leads you through the designated area of Akumal Bay, keeping the group focused on spotting marine life. The Akumal Bay turtle care program is not included and costs 400 MXN per person, which you pay on the day.
• Use of snorkeling equipment is provided at Akumal Beach, so you are supplied with the basic gear needed to enter the water and follow your guide during the swim and snorkel with turtles activity.
• Travel between your hotel or meeting point and Akumal Beach in an air-conditioned vehicle, with transportation service from your hotel or meeting point to Akumal Beach included, plus transfers between hotel or meeting point and Akumal Beach, as per the option you select.
• Bottled water is available during the outing, and you can enjoy snacks and drinks on the beach during your two hours of free time to relax and take in the views after the guided portion in the water.
• If you choose the Tulum meeting point, your return transfer to Tulum is by public transport, with drop-off to Tulum by public transport included and your ticket paid for by staff so you do not need to arrange this yourself.
