We enjoyed the walk around the big container ships in the port of Hamburg. The coffee, the clean toilets on board, the outdoor space and the possibility of moving around on the boat were all pluses. On the other hand, we didn't even get to the very beginning of the canals of the old town, even though we had a two-hour cruise planned. This was very frustrating, especially as we hadn't been warned. The German guide was apparently friendly and competent, but he spoke too loudly for the audio guide's English comments (and only English, long live our European partner!) to be audible, which was a pity for us.

The tour was fine and the experience optimal. One note: we assumed that it included a section of Speicherstadt. This was not the case. We were mainly in the harbor. Speichterstadt we saw via the hopon-hopoff bus tour. In short we did not get what we had hoped for....

Comfortable and interesting boat ride with drinks and snacks available. The narration was hard to follow as a non-native German speaker, but it was obviously humorous and enjoyed by many.

The ship was very old, overcrowded (did not have enough seats inside in the cold) and it was a "one -man-show" without any service in the 2h tour (no drinks etc.). The only positive thing was the captain and his way of guiding the tour and the good information about all the sights. Next time on a more modern boat with service, at least with a hot coffee.

There was a bit of miscoordination during the start, and then we were assigned a new boat. Also, I felt they did not exactly go into Speicherstadt. Rather more towards containers ships. But the views were nice!

The harbor tour was great and is definitely recommended. But if Headout can't manage to send the ticket, then that's an indictment. All the more thanks to the team on the boat, who took us along anyway! And at the end, Headout sent us a request for a star rating... so in this case: - BOOTSTOUR FIVE STARS - HEADOUT ZERO STARS

We went on a two-hour tour, which was great! The captain was amazing and he was fully committed to his job.

While the port presents itself as a striking image of urbanization and development, it also, much like Venice, has a labyrinth of canals, inducing a feeling of medieval times. Hamburg owes much of its worldly character to the mighty Elbe, the river on which the port is situated.

The extended 2-hour tour of the port of Hamburg is nothing short of an adventure. With informative and interesting facts imparted by an experienced captain on board the cruise, you will leave with a better and deeper understanding of the affairs that take place within the harbour shores. By the time you’re done with the cruise, you’ll be thorough with container terminals, having a better understanding of terms like dry dock, TEU, RoRo, and more. A detour to the historic Speicherstadt will take you through narrow crisscrossing canals and numerous bridges offering picturesque views of Neo-Gothic brick buildings.
