FamilyVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5“What an incredible experience! I took my granddaughter on the architecture boat tour yesterday, and we both had an amazing time. The tour was informative, relaxing, and so much fun. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared the history of the buildings in a way that kept everyone interested. The captain made the ride smooth, and the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Seeing the city from the water gave us a whole new appreciation for its beautiful architecture. It was the perfect way to spend quality time together and create memories we’ll always cherish. I highly recommend this tour to families, visitors, and even locals who want to see the city from a different perspective. We will definitely be back!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 — A memorable experience that was worth every minute!TTiffany G
GroupVerified bookingLast week5/5Our 45-minute Chicago River Architecture Cruise with Wendella was one of the highlights of our trip! The views of the city's iconic skyline were absolutely stunning, and seeing Chicago from the river gave us a whole new appreciation for its incredible architecture and history. The tour guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the experience both informative and entertaining. Even though it was only 45 minutes, it was packed with fascinating stories about the buildings and the city's rich architectural heritage. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-organized, making the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable. Whether it's your first time in Chicago or you're visiting again, this cruise is definitely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the city from a unique perspective!KKevin M
GroupVerified booking2 days ago5/5The cruise covered so many unique and historical buildings along the Chicago River shoreline. I enjoyed navigating all 3 branches of the river, and only wish we'd gone further north to Division near Goose Island because of the history of that location. The south leg was more thanI expected and I was able to get awesome photos along the river cruise. The narrator for the cruise was awesome as well, unfortunately I forgot to remember to jot his name down, but he was knowledgeable and entertaining. Thanks Wendella, in comparison to the 1st Lady architectural cruise we were originally booked for, this gave us our best bang for the buck, and it was much less crowded. As we passed the 1st Lady I could see there barely any extra seats available. I also loved the enclosed air- conditioned downstairs bar areaRRaul J
GroupVerified bookingJun 20264/5Our tour guide was Josh who did a relatively good job of providing historical and relevent information. At times he would talk about buildings after we had passed it and ask us to turnaround to see it, which was awkward at times. He was very eager to share a lot of information regarding the Chicago Fire, which was fine for a while. However, he continued to talk about it for quite a while longer and passed opportunities to talk about other buildings or other historical facts. The world's fair was briefly mentioned, how the term "the Windy City" came about was never mentioned , the different architects that influenced the development it's was skipped and the impact Mr. Woolworth had in developing Chicago. These were key points that would have made the tour more interesting.DDenise B
CoupleVerified booking4 days ago5/5My 45‑minute Wendella architecture cruise turned out to be one of the best things I did in Chicago. From the moment the boat pulled away from the dock, I felt like I was seeing the city from a completely new angle. The river-level views made familiar buildings look monumental, and the guide’s storytelling brought the skyline to life with history, humor, and details I’d never noticed before. Even though the tour was short, the pace felt perfect—fast enough to stay engaging but never rushed. By the time we returned, I had a deeper appreciation for Chicago’s architecture and a camera full of riverfront shots. I genuinely would recommend this very affordable tour to anyone visiting the city or even locals who want to see Chicago from a fresh perspective.
