What an interesting insight to this historical prison. The audio tour was absolutely brilliant with background sounds to set off how it felt to be there as an inmate. It was heart wrenching to hear how they were treated but elating to learn that some had made something of themselves when they left. The cells were awful and you could imagine the life they had. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area - it was well worth the 2.5 hour round trip with the ferry crossing being an added bonus. i'd recommend moving onto Pier 39 afterwards to see the Sea Lions!

We had a most wonderful relaxing cruise of the San Francisco Bay. The crew was very helpful and very kind. It was beautiful and soothing going through the waters and seeing the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge, as well as looking at Alcatraz Island. The cruise was well worth the money and would love to do this again the next time we visit San Francisco.

It was everything I hoped it would be. Seeing the actual cells where the escape took place in its original form and manican heads in the cots was really erry. I liked you could follow along with the different announcers at your own pace. I really enjoyed it!

Nice to have a shuttle. My husband had back surgery and was a big help. The manager, with English accent talked a lot with us about history of Alcatraz. Very friendly! Awesome experience.

It was nice to h ang out with family and learn stuff about the prison. Can anything be done to reduce the number of flies on board the ship? The number of bugs was disturbing.
