A half-day trip built for people who want to see one of Mallorca’s most distinctive cave systems without giving up the rest of the day — back in resort by around 2pm, with the afternoon still free.
Getting started
After booking, you’ll receive 2 emails: the first with your booking confirmation and voucher, and the second with your exact pick-up point and time. You’ll be collected from your hotel in Alcúdia or from a nearby meeting point. The tour departs at around 9am. Board your air-conditioned coach and your English-speaking escort guide will handle the rest.
-
Coach transfer — Alcúdia to Hams' Caves: Travel inland across Mallorca toward the east coast, passing through the island’s countryside on the way to Porto Cristo. Along the route, your guide shares commentary about the areas you pass through.
-
Blue Cave: Begin with the Blue Cave, the most visually dramatic part of the visit.
-
Round Cave: Next, visit the Round Cave, a vast open space with a botanical garden growing inside it. The atmosphere here feels completely different from the enclosed cave passages, making this part of the visit stand out for its scale and openness.
-
Classic Cave: Continue into the Classic Cave, home to the unusual hook-shaped stalactites and stalagmites that gave Hams' Caves its name. “Hams” means fish hooks in Mallorcan, and these formations are what make the cave system so recognizable. The caves were discovered in 1905 and are believed to be around 10 million years old.
-
Free time at the site: After the cave visit, you’ll have some free time to browse the gift shop or grab something to eat at the on-site burger bar before heading back to the coach.
Wrapping up
The coach returns to Alcúdia with an estimated arrival back in resort by around 2pm, leaving the rest of your day free. If you select the Dinosaurland upgrade, your visit to the open-air dinosaur park with life-size models and interactive zones takes place before the return transfer.
