    What our guests say

I’d read a little about Long March to Freedom before visiting Cape Town, but honestly it BLEW me away. Went with my partner on a sort of cloudy Sunday, so it wasn’t crowded at all. The statues are super detailed—every wrinkle and fold in the clothes! The background of Table Mountain adds this epic vibe. We took like a million pics, but also just stood there reading all the little plaques. The stories hit hard. If you like history, or just wanna get out of the craziness of the city for a bit, this is perfect. Only thing, wear a hat, not much shade.

Absolutely STUNNING. I went solo and ended up chatting with the guide, Tumi, who basically knows everything about South African history (I swear). The statues feel soooo real, you almost expect them to move. I spent way longer than planned. If you’re into photography, bring your good camera—clouds over Table Mountain made my shots look next level.

Okay so I’m not usually one for museums, but this was more like walking through history outside. Went with my girlfriend—we were both surprised how MOVING it was. The guide (can’t remember his name, sorry!) was passionate and friendly. Loved the dogs and other animals mixed in with the people. We stayed till closing.

Went in the afternoon with my two teens. They were kind of meh about it at first, but the scavenger hunt idea totally worked for them. Statues are bigger than you think! Bit tricky to get to if you don’t have a car, but we managed w/ Uber. Not much in way of food nearby, so bring water/snacks.

Stopped by with friends after lunch, wasn’t expecting much and got BLOWN AWAY. The detail on the faces, the way the statues are all lined up—it’s just unique. Also, the guide was hilarious and super patient with our random questions. Bring extra camera batteries!
