This is an ESSENTIAL trip for anyone visiting Switzerland. 'Stunning' doesn't do justice to the views you get, and it is surprising how quickly you climb out from Zermatt to see views to die for. Don't be put off if it's cloudy in the town, likelihood is the clouds will only be in the valley, and up above will be warm and sunny (as it was for us last week). I took the opportunity to hike down between two fo the train stations when we came down - probably the most beautiful walk I've ever done. 100% a 'must do'......

The Matterhorn excursion left me breathless in the best way. Watching that iconic peak rise into the sky felt like stepping into a living postcard—one painted by God Himself. The crisp air, the quiet strength of the mountain, and the sweep of the valleys below made me feel both small and deeply held. It’s humbling to stand in a place where creation speaks so loudly, reminding me how blessed I am to witness beauty that feels almost sacred.

The gondola ride, stunning views, amenities, and experiences at the different stops were definitely worth the price of the ticket! One recommendation: clearer signage. We asked 4 different town employees if we were on the right road and each gave us different instructions or did not know the answer. One person told us that it was a one minute walk from the train/shuttle station to the gondola.

Was unsure what to expect but our journey to the "top" was a highlight of our time and made for the perfect day trip. We rode all the way up and the hiked down to a great lunch spot! The views were beyond what we expected. Would 10/10 recommend.

A great cogwheel trsin experience to the top of a 360° panorama with many >4,000m peaks and magificent glaciers. Hiking down the Mark Twain trail was an unforgettable experience.

Easy scan and go system with QR code. The train had panoramic windows for better pictures. Your tips to seat on the right side while going up was great.

    We went early, queued before it opened & had the best views without the crowds - absolutely stunning! Wonderful seeing all the different peaks from up there along with climbers heading further up. I don't necessarily agree with the need to ski in August but some were being pulled up (& down!) by snow mobiles - spoilt the tranquility really. The ice caves were something else, wow! The sculptures were amazing! Worth every penny (even the 2chf to use the loo, which you get back if you buy anything even a coffee)

    We had a wonderful excursion up the mount Gornergrat toward Matterhorn. The weather that day was perfect. The scenery breathing. The cogwheel trains were smooth and efficient. Best recommendation is to get there early during tourist season because it gets crowded.... But the Swiss seem to handle crowds well. Great experience highly recommend it

    Solo un piccolo momento di panico xchè con i biglietti digitali non siamo riusciti ad entrare. Dovevamo prima passare dal totem in stazione che ci ha poi fatto i biglietti cartacei x poter entrare. Ma nulla di grave, tutto risolto in pochi minuti. Grazie mille. Bella esperienza.

    Haben das Matterhorn mit der Gornergratbahn erkundet. Soweit alles gut gut funktioniert mit den Tickets, mit einer Kritik : Stellten sich mit dem zugesandten CR-Code Tickets in der Schlange an, jedoch mussten wir feststellen, das man vorher mit dem CR-Code Ticket das Einlassticket beim Ticketschalter lösen muss. Also nach langen Anstellen wieder retour zum Ticketschalter. Lösungsvorschlag : Vielleicht einen Hinweis beim Ticketkaufs das man erst ein richtes Ticket lösen muss, oder hab ich das überlesen.
