Getting started

Arrive at the Postojna Cave Park and head to the main entrance at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. After ticket checks, you’ll join your guide and board the iconic underground train, which takes you deep into the heart of the cave system before the walking tour begins.

Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage, which aren’t permitted inside the cave or castle for security reasons.

Food and drinks inside the cave or castle.

Alcohol, drugs, or any form of intoxication, which are strictly prohibited on the premises.

Some areas of the cave and castle may still be difficult to access for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle are open daily, even on public holidays and in bad weather.

The cave beneath Predjama Castle is only open from June to August, as bats hibernate there during the rest of the year.

A shuttle service between Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle runs during high season, with the ride taking up to 20 minutes.

Boarding for the cave train begins 15 minutes before your scheduled visit time.

Overnight stays and accommodation aren’t included with the ticket.
