Getting started

Present your entry ticket at ARTECHOUSE DC, located just off the National Mall. Once your ticket is scanned, follow staff directions into the exhibition space and begin exploring.

What to bring

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID matching the name on the credit card used to purchase the tickets.

If using student, senior, military, first responder, or local resident discounted tickets, bring a valid photo ID to verify your eligibility.

Visitors attending after-hours 21+ sessions must bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

What's not allowed

Outside food, beverages, and gum are not permitted inside the exhibition space. Bottled water is allowed only in non-exhibit areas.

Strollers, suitcases, luggage, large backpacks, and bags larger than 16 inches are not allowed on the exhibition floor.

Tripods, selfie sticks, stabilizers, gimbals, lighting equipment, and other obstructive camera equipment are prohibited.

Commercial photography, professional video equipment, product shoots, performances, press interviews, and media shoots require advance approval and an ARTECHOUSE representative.

Costumes, non-health-related masks, and props are not permitted.

Stiletto heels are not allowed on the reflective flooring. Visitors wearing them will be asked to remove them before entering.

Firearms, dangerous or deadly weapons, and explosives are prohibited, including firearms carried by visitors with permits.

Illegal substances are not permitted.

Avoid bringing valuables, as the coatroom is unattended and does not offer monitored or locked storage.

Accessibility

ARTECHOUSE DC is a fully accessible space, with wheelchairs and walkers permitted on the exhibition floor.

Some installations may involve interactions that are difficult for certain visitors, but all are maneuverable and ADA-compliant.

Some installations feature strong lighting effects and loud sounds. Check the individual installation disclosures before your visit.

Additional information

Timed tickets are required. Arrive at your designated entry time.

All visitors aged 4 and above require a ticket.

Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult and closely supervised throughout the visit.

One member of your party must present a valid photo ID matching the name on the tickets and the credit card used for purchase.

Tickets are valid for individual one-hour sessions. Visitors may stay longer when space allows, but ARTECHOUSE may enforce the one-hour limit during capacity constraints, session transitions, or private events.

ARTECHOUSE DC is located just off the National Mall, near the Smithsonian museums and the Wharf.

Operating hours: Thursday, 12pm–10pm; Friday and Saturday, 10am–10pm; Sunday, 12pm–8pm.

Personal photography is permitted without flash.

Some installations use technology that captures your likeness in real time to enhance the experience. This data is not stored.

ARTECHOUSE may require or recommend installation-specific disclaimers. Review the terms and conditions before visiting.

Visitors who appear unstable or under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be denied entry or asked to leave.

Unplanned maintenance may cause delays or cancellations. If a visit cannot be rescheduled, a full ticket refund will be issued, with no additional compensation.

The coatroom is available for storing permitted belongings, but ARTECHOUSE is not responsible for lost, missing, stolen, or damaged items.
