Alongside her is Velma Kelly, a fellow inmate and vaudeville star who is also on trial for murder. Both women are caught in a media frenzy, manipulated by the unscrupulous lawyer Billy Flynn, who promises to turn their trials into sensational spectacles. As Roxie and Velma vie for the spotlight and seek to outshine each other, they navigate a world of corruption, deceit, and manipulation.
