The Bargello was a very unfamiliar museum to me. But after visiting, I would recommend it to everyone. It is beautifully laid out, and the staff is friendly. There are some truly extraordinary pieces. I arrived quite early, but they let me through after the security check.

Easier to book than via the actual museum site. Bargello is very special and much calmer than some of Firenze's other tourist hotspots. All round good experience.

The Bargello is one of the greatest collections of sculpture anywhere. Buying tickets through Headout was difficult, especially as I had a group of nine and I was only able to buy 8 tickets. There was also some difficult in accessing the tickets as there was no internet access in the reception of the building. How stupid is that!

You'll also get to see Donatello's St. George Tabernacle and David, the first male nude statues since classical antiquity. This palace is also the seat of the city council. Unfortunately, this means that on certain special occasions when institutional ceremonies are scheduled, the museum may be totally or partially closed to the public.
