It was a perfect performance for opera beginners. Loved the parts where performers gave a short explanation/story about the song, before they performed. I was able to enjoy the performance with better understanding.

It was a good selection of pieces and the way the singers introduced the music made it easier for audiences to understand what they were hearing. It made opera approachable.

An easy introduction to opera for new-comers and a reminder of how wonderful opera can be for those who are already hooked. The singing--a soprano, a mezzo-soprano, a tenor, and a baritone--was good, with some explanation of the different voices at the beginning. The pianist was first-rate. The selections were old favourites (the drinking song from Traviata, Nessun Dorma, the Flower Duet from Lakme, &c.), all well performed. Really serious opera lovers might be taken aback by the invitation to help sing the Figaro song, but most of the audience loved it.

Venue (Sydney Opera House) was excellent -- beautiful architecture, outstanding acoustics, and clear sight lines for every seat. The performing artists (pianist, soprano, mezzo soprano, and baritone) combined a light-hearted introduction to opera and the typical roles of each voice with full-hearted delivery of every aria, conveying all the emotion of the pieces despite the absence of costumes or stage scenery. The audience clearly enjoyed the performance, with extended applause and many shouts of "bravo!" after the finale.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance of well known and much loved classic arias and duets. Superb piano accompanist and the 4 opera singers were marvelous, engaging the audience with the story line and context of the music . It was lovely to have the translation of the lyrics shown . Seats ( Row D circle) were comfortable with good leg room and sight line.. A great evening and well worth it My husband also enjoyed it and he wasn't keen to go!

This is a good tourist opera. It is a short opera of recognizable songs. Total time is about 90 minutes including the intermission break. It started at 6:30pm and finished a little before 8:00pm. The singers and pianist were amazing. This is not an opera with costumes and displays. It is 4 singers on stage with a piano. I think it was worth the cost. I recommend buying the cheap seats as the theatre is small and all the seats have a great view.

It was my first opera experience so I don't have a comparison, but I really enjoyed the opera songs and the overall atmosphere.
