The atmosphere at the City of Arts and Sciences is amazing—the buildings and the setting are magnificent. The entrance and crowd management are very well organized. The show at the Hemisferic was nice, but nothing exceptional. The Science Museum, on the other hand, is very large and takes several hours to visit. I recommend doing it in the morning when your mind and body are freshest, and especially at times other than May, because that’s when all the school field trips are happening, which makes it very crowded.

L'Hemisfèric: The "Eye of Wisdom" This building is the visual highlight of the entire complex. It looks like a giant eye reflected in the water. The Experience: Inside, there is an IMAX theater and a planetarium. The screen is a massive dome (approx. 900 m²), where nature and science documentaries are typically shown. Pros: The atmosphere is extremely relaxing. You are given headphones (also available in German/English) and recline in nearly horizontal chairs while immersing yourself in the images. Cons: Some films seem a bit dated technically, and for people who get seasick easily, the curvature of the screen may take some getting used to. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) – A must-see for architecture fans; the cinema experience is a nice bonus, but not an "action blockbuster." 🧬 Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe "No touching allowed" – that’s the motto of this huge, skeleton-like building. The experience: It’s an interactive museum spread over three floors. There are exhibits on genetics (the famous “Chromosome Forest”), space travel, physics, and currently often special exhibitions (e.g., on Leonardo da Vinci or Pixar). Pros: Perfect for families with children or curious adults. It’s very playful and less dry than traditional museums. The building itself is almost even more impressive from the inside than from the outside. Cons: On weekends or during school vacations, it can get extremely loud and bustling. Some interactive stations could use an upgrade. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5) – Highly recommended, especially for explorers and families.

A wonder of modern architecture- good to spend time here. We enjoyed the IMAX after we worked out how to sort out the headsets. That wasn't very clearly explained. The best bit was the Da Vinci exhibit in the Science Museum and the immersive display. What an amazing person and a well told story.

The science museum is great for both adults and kids, but the Hemisferic was terrible because of the audio translation. The audio comes from one single headset that doesn't even sit on the ear, so the room audio, which is in Spanish, bleeds through, making the entire experience hard to follow. The video quality of the projection is top-notch.
