• 5 or 7-day pass: unlimited train rides in specified areas

• Reserved and non-reserved seats in the following on the JR Hokkaido Line:

  • Ordinary cars of limited express trains

  • Special rapid and rapid trains

  • Temporary trains (limited express/rapid/local)

  • Local trains

• Access to some JR Hokkaido buses (details here)

• Hokkaido Shinkansen Line, the South Hokkaido Railway, the streetcar, and the subway

• Other lines: South Hokkaido Railway, Sapporo Municipal Subway, etc

• Hokkaido Shinkansen Hayabusa and Hayate trains

• Reserved seats on the SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train

• Buses between Sapporo-Asahikawa, Monbetsu, Hiro'o, Kiroro, Ohibiro, Erimo, Shin Sapporo-Atsubetsu Stadium, and JR Shiroishi Station-Sapporo Dome, and Chuo buses

Important Information

• Secure a 'Temporary Visitor' stamp at Immigration to be eligible for a JR Pass. Do not pass through the automated gates as no stamp will be applied then.

• This Rail Pass can be used only by non-Japanese passport holders with a ‘Temporary Visitor’ visa stamp on their passport. Non-Japanese passport holders with permanent residency status in Japan cannot use this pass.

• Please make separate reservations for each guest (only one pass per order).

• Please enter your full name that completely matches your passport in Romanization letters. If the names are mismatched with the passport, JR Hokkaido may refuse the redemption for physical tickets.

• Separate bookings are required for multiple tickets.

• Please show only your original passport and those of the persons traveling with you as verification to redeem the Pass.

• Please book reserved seat tickets before boarding if you plan to use a reserved seat. Seats can’t be reserved on the train. Click here for more details on how to reserve your seats.

• When 3 or more babies accompany 1 adult or child, child tickets are required for the third and any additional babies.

• When a baby or infant occupies his or her own reserved seat, Green Car seat, berth, etc., tickets are required.

Operating Hours of JR Counters

• To check the updated operating hours of any of the Japan-wide JR ticket counters, please check the official portal and pick up your Pass within those hours.

• Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

• Physical ticket can be procured at major JR Hokkaido Rail Pass Ticket Offices with all passengers online tickets & passport.

• Secure a 'Temporary Visitor' stamp at Immigration to be eligible for a JR Pass, without this, the Pass is invalid. Do not pass through the automated gates as no stamp will be applied then.
