Headout has a great combo deal for the butterfly garden and aquarium. We struggled a bit to recognise which ticket is for which seeing that they are not clearly labelled and it is in two seperate buildings, but the friendly staff was able to help without trouble. The aquarium is quite spectacular, but the rooms which you walk through are a bit underwhelming in size (especially after reading about it online). The butterfly garden splits into two different domes with beautiful interactions being allowed, just remember not to go too late at night seeing that the butterflies might be asleep. Overall very beautiful, it is a pity the rooms end just as the excitement truly starts.

The experience was exciting. Thanks Headout! Yas waterworld is the most fun place for children and adults! Kindly recommend to visit, staff are friendly, food is good, we took a cabana with towels, sunbeds, water for 390 AED, it was comfortable. National aquarium is also nice, be attentive waterworld is different, I didn't know that and firstly we went to waterworld, I thought it's the same place)) we came there after 6 pm and there were few people. After visiting the aquarium you can walk in Al Qana, there are lots of restaurants for having a dinner. Also you can visit the butterfly garden.

I recently visited the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi and it was absolutely worth it! I honestly thought it would be small, but it turned out to be huge and full of amazing exhibits. There are so many species of fish and even some animals to see. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the experience, it made me feel like a kid again, fascinated by the colorful sea life and underwater world. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day!

Nice place to visit, way cheaper than the one in Dubai. It is not that big and it is very nice. The kids loved the place. My daughter was fascinated with the Capibara she saw live and my son was enthusiastic for touching a real snake. We could even let our bags at the entrance so was nice because we had the flight that same day and had 4 of them

All marine animals in the National Aquarium are responsibly and ethically sourced from around the world. The aquarium features the largest ever underwater tunnel, making the visitor experience all the more exciting and inclusive. As part of its conservation efforts, the aquarium also features a department dedicated entirely to education. This department will undertake a variety of entertaining shows, 60 educational exhibitions, and interactive and live-feeding sessions. With an upgrade to the All Access option, take a walk along the Glass Bridge and marvel at the gorgeous views on the Glass Bottom Boat tour. The Magical Mermaid show

Watch mermaids glide through the waters of the National Aquarium in a live underwater performance designed for families and children of all ages. The 30-minute show runs on August 23–24 and August 30–31, with showtimes at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. This limited-time experience combines ocean life with theatrical storytelling, making it ideal for birthdays, family outings, or simply a special day in Abu Dhabi. Aquarium staff are available to assist families, and the show is accessible for toddlers, kids, and adults alike.

Getting There

By bus

The closest bus stop is Khaleej Al Arabi St / Bus Interchange. It is a quick 4-minute walk to the attraction.

Board buses #21, #22, #101, and more to get you there.

It takes less than 30 minutes to reach Al Qana from Downtown Abu Dhabi. If you’re coming by bus, take route #56 which passes through the Al Maqta region.
