What to expect

Royal Crescent Georgian House Museum

Step into the historic house at the Royal Crescent and walk through fully furnished period rooms that recreate life in a Georgian home. As you move between levels, you can explore both the grand family spaces above and the working areas below.

Features

• Access to the historic house and furnished period rooms lets you walk through carefully set interiors that reflect the style and layout of a Georgian household. Each room is arranged so you can see how different parts of the home were used in daily life.
• Access to above-stairs areas gives you a look at the formal side of the house, where the main rooms and family spaces were located. This part of your visit focuses on how the household presented itself to guests and conducted everyday routines.
• Access to below-stairs areas brings you into the service side of the building, where the staff lived and worked out of sight. These spaces help you contrast the experience of the servants with the rooms used by the family.
• A smartphone audioguide provides an immersive audio guide and sound experience as you move through the house. Listening on your own device, you can follow the commentary that explains the above-stairs and below-stairs areas and adds detail to what you see in each furnished period room.
