Main Entrance (Place des Terreaux)
You’ll find the entrance at 20, place des Terreaux, right opposite the Bartholdi Fountain and Lyon City Hall. This is the museum’s only public entry point.
The entrance is fully wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and elevators connecting all gallery levels. You can also borrow a wheelchair at the entrance, if needed. However, it’s a good idea to call ahead so the team can assist you as soon as you arrive.
Regular Hours: Open Wednesday to Monday from 10am to 6pm.
Closed: Every Tuesday and on French bank holidays.
Last Entry: Final admission is at 5:30pm, with galleries beginning to close shortly after.
Special Closures: The museum is closed on January 1, May 1, and December 25, as well as other French public holidays. English highlight tours are only available on specific days and require advance booking. Always check the official calendar for any exceptional closures or late openings before your visit.
A cloakroom is available for coats and small personal items. Please note that large bags and luggage cannot be stored.
