From the valley floor to a glacier summit in under an hour: ride, walk, and explore your way through Central Switzerland's most dramatic alpine playground.
Getting started
Head to the bottom station of the Titlis Bergbahnen at Gerschnistrasse 12 in Engelberg. Present your mobile voucher at the entrance and oard the Titlis Xpress, an 8-person gondola that departs regularly from the base.
What to expect
Mount Titlis
At 3,238 meters, Mount Titlis is the highest peak in Central Switzerland accessible by cable car. The journey up is an experience in itself, moving through alpine meadows, glacial terrain, and snow-covered ridgelines.
Titlis Rotair: The final leg to the summit is aboard the Titlis Rotair, the world's first revolving aerial tramway. The cabin completes a full 360° rotation during the ascent, giving you uninterrupted panoramic views of surrounding peaks, glaciers, and valleys without having to jostle for a window spot.
Ice Flyer Chairlift: Soar above the Titlis Glacier on this open-air chairlift that carries you over deep crevasses and snow-covered terrain near the summit. It’s a short but exhilarating ride, with wide-open views of the glacier below and the surrounding alpine peaks all around.
Titlis Cliff Walk: Step onto Europe's highest suspension bridge at over 3,000 meters. Spanning 100 meters between two cliff faces, it hangs 500 meters above the valley floor—150 steps of pure alpine adrenaline with views that stretch to the Jura mountains on a clear day.
Glacier Cave: Descend into a frozen tunnel carved through 5,000-year-old glacial ice. The shimmering blue walls and subzero temperatures offer a surreal contrast to the sunlit summit above. It's a quick detour but one you won't forget.
Trübsee (Midway Station): On the way up or back, hop off at Trübsee, a serene alpine lake at 1,800 meters. Depending on the season, enjoy lakeside walks, rowing, or simply the views across the Engelberg valley.
Upgrades: Say goodbye to planning logistics if arriving from Zurich or Lucerne — with convenient transfer options.
