The monastery was amazing and well worth a visit, with beautiful buildings and history. The queue was quite long, which was fine, however there were three separate queues and no signage to say what they were for until you got to the front. We therefore queued for 30 mins to be told rather rudely that we were in the wrong one, so we had to join another queue for another 40 mins. The security/entry staff were brusque and barely communicated, which spoilt the shortened until we were finally able to get inside.

The line was a bit long when we arrived, so having tickets ahead of time was perfect. Scanning it was a bit difficult, so the worker helped and it worked. I would suggest going on a day that isn't super windy, we had to since it was our last chance to go. The views were beautiful and there were a lot of peacocks, which was a pleasant surprise!

Loved the monastery architecture. Didn't like the way the entry queue was managed- we were there in our queue at 10.30am promptly , but lots of large groups were allowed in ahead of us ( hundreds of people) possibly tour buses or student parties, meaning those with prebooked tickets got soaked in very heavy rain.

Monastery very interesting. One major problem though. I purchased online tickets without having to download the head out app. But then to retrieve tickets it stated I had to download the app however I couldn't download as phone needed to be a more recent iOS . Luckily they allowed us in at monastery after a while.

The monastery is beautiful. Although we bought tickets in advance, we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes, but all the information was clear and well organized. The place is well worth it. We found parking at the contemporary art museum right next door.

Every detail of Manueline architecture impresses with its symbolic richness and the technical skill of the stone carvings. Walking through the cloisters is like walking through a living chapter of Portuguese history—a space that conveys faith, maritime power, and national identity.

Easy to book. There is a small extra cost to use the service, but the only problem is that the tickets arrive within two hours. I booked for myself and my newborn baby, and we waited about an hour before receiving them.

The price charged on this platform is double that charged at the box office. A real rip-off. I paid €18 per ticket here, and at the venue it was €9. And I had a ticket to get in right away.
