We had a wonderful experience on our day trip to Teotihuacan with Amigo Tours.! The driver, Simon and our guides Fernanda and Leo were friendly, informative and engaging. They kept us on a schedule, allowing plenty of time to visit each site along the way. We ordered the prepaid lunch buffet, which included entertainment from musicians and dancers. It was a great tour which allowed us to learn about Mexico's history!

I was actually glad I took the tour instead of going on my own. The drive was comfortable in an air condition van. The guide was very helpful and always wanted to stop and answer questions. We had time in all locations and in-depth , explanations of the sites.

Robert and Lili were very professional and demonstrated an unsurpassed level of knowledge, they took care of the group, especially us who were always late. A thousand thanks to both of them and to the driver for his great skill. The food at Rancho Azteca was spectacular.

Alex, our guide, was full of good intentions, but a group of 50 can't manage on its own. There were plenty of times when he'd start talking without waiting for the whole group, when we couldn't hear him and sometimes with an inaudible flow, which was a pity because we'd come to learn things. The microphone on the bus was faulty. The place for lunch is a tourist trap with people dressed up in cartoonish costumes; there was no other dining option next door even if you didn't take the buffet option. The tequila tasting, too, lacked authenticity, and the store a tourist haunt too. You really need to reduce the size of the group or multiply the number of guides. On the plus side, you don't have to think about it and you get to discover three of Mexico City's most emblematic places.

Everything worked very well. Fernanda is an excellent guide, a well prepared archaeologist, you learn a lot with her. The bus was comfortable and air-conditioned. If you want to save some pesos, we booked without lunch and then we bought it there, everything was delicious.

The guide did a great job in balancing information provided and allowing free-time. This contextulised the experience while also letting us enjoy the sights on our own.
  • This full-day guided tour from Mexico City takes you through three of the most historically and culturally significant landmarks in the country: Tlatelolco, the Basilica of Guadalupe, and the Teotihuacán Pyramids. From the ruins of the Aztec Empire’s biggest market to the site of a miraculous apparition, and finally, to the towering City of the Gods, this experience is a journey through Mexico’s soul.

    Getting started

Your adventure begins at a designated meeting point in Mexico City. Hop into a comfortable, air-conditioned ride as your guide preps you for the day ahead. Have your ID and tickets ready for smooth entry at each stop.

    What to expect

Tlatelolco: The Plaza of Three Cultures

    • The largest archaeological site in Mexico City, where the Aztec empire’s main market once stood.

    • A unique blend of pre-Hispanic ruins, Spanish colonial structures, and modern-day Mexico in one spot.

    • Dark history? You got it—this is the site of the famous Lovers of Tlatelolco and mass graves from conquests past.

Basilica of Guadalupe: Mexico’s spiritual heartbeat

    • Step inside the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in Latin America, where faith meets history.

    • See the miraculous cloak of Our Lady of Guadalupe, still on display centuries after her apparition.

    • Explore both the Old Basilica and the modern Basilica, each with its own unique architectural style.

    Obsidian Workshop

    • Get hands-on with obsidian, the volcanic glass used by the Aztecs for everything from tools to rituals.

Teotihuacán: The City of the Gods

    • Walk along the Avenue of the Dead, the central path through this vast ancient city.

    • Marvel at the Pyramid of the Sun, standing over 200 feet tall, one of the most impressive in Mesoamerica.

    • Explore the Pyramid of the Moon, the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, and the Palace of Quetzalpápalotl, each with intricate carvings and deep mythology.

    • Breathtaking views? Check. If you’re up for it, climbing the pyramids offers a sweeping look at the entire site.
