If you’re in Mexico City on the 1st of November, you don’t want to miss out on this experience. One of Mexico’s most beloved annual traditions, the Day of the Dead celebrates the departed in pomp and pride. Walk through a cemetery with private shrines decorated with flowers and favorite Mexican treats. The cemetery resembles that of a commemorative wonderland, with hundreds of lit candles, casting an ethereal glow over the graveyard. Locals believe this forms a spiritual path for the dead to follow!

The ofrendas spread across the cemetery include homemade altars, sugar skulls, the bread of the dead (pan de muertos), and much more. Float down the canals of Xochimilco on a night Gondola ride (or trajinera), and notice striking islands of marigolds. Your expert tour guide will fill you in on the history and traditions of this cherished holiday. After all the excitement, you will return to the meeting point near Zocalo, marking the end of your remarkable Day of the Dead tour!
