Getting started

Begin at the Goldbelt Mt. Roberts Tram area, where your included transportation takes you to the helicopter base. Check in, complete the required individual weigh-in, and receive your helicopter assignment. After a brief safety orientation, you board the helicopter and lift off toward Herbert Glacier for your flightseeing route.

What to expect

This tour centers on Herbert Glacier, where your helicopter lands directly on the ice so you can explore on foot with your pilot guide.

Features

Helicopter flightseeing: View the Herbert Glacier landscape from the air during the journey to Herbert Glacier, including approximately 15 minutes outbound and 15 minutes on the return leg on the base group itinerary.

Glacier landing: Step out for a landing on Herbert Glacier and feel the surface of exposed blue ice underfoot as you move around the landing zone.

Guided glacier walk: Join a 20–25 minute walkabout on the glacier with your pilot guide, who leads you across the ice, explains the terrain, and manages timing before your return flight.

Convenient travel: Use the transport to/from the meeting point. Your total tour time covers both the van transfers and the helicopter portion.

Upgrade to a private tour: If you choose the Private Helicopter Glacier Landing with Herbert Glacier Walk Tour, ride in a private helicopter for groups up to 6, have the aircraft to yourselves, and receive a water bottle per passenger included for your glacier time.

Helicopters accommodate up to six standard passengers; larger groups will be divided between aircraft.

Every passenger, including children, must purchase a full-fare ticket.

All guests are individually weighed at the facility before departure for safety and aircraft balance requirements.

Tours operate from April 27 through October 1, 2026, though the season end date may vary depending on weather and snow conditions.

Cruise ship passengers should allow at least 45 minutes between the tour and their ship’s arrival or departure times.

While the operator will make every effort to seat groups together, seating arrangements cannot be guaranteed due to weight-balancing requirements.
