Mauritshuis has long been my favorite small museum. There are many master works by Rembrant, Frans Hals, Rubens, and others. There are 2 Vermeers, but the Girl With the Pearl Earing was on short term loan when I was there most recently. There is an elevator from the plaza to the entry level, and one from the entry level to the first exhibit floor; however, I did not see one to the masterworks level. As a result, if you cannot walk stairs I would inquire.

Delicious pit stop at the bar before the start of our visit...and than only amazement Really good the app which helps with some descriptions of the wonders preserved here Nice use of technology Thanks a lot!

Last minute plan to visit Maurits house, was unable to get tickets online directly through museum website . Headout saved the day. Spend some quality time at the museum doing the high light tour. The museum is a gem with an enormous collection. Nice giftshop. You can store your personal items in lockers free of charge to better enjoy the experience. We also choose to get some reprieve in the climate control museum during a hot day in The Hague. Do not skip it as part of your visit!

One of my wife's favorite movie is "The Girl with the Pearl Earring". So when we decided to go from Chicago to Amsterdam for our anniversary we wanted to make the Mauritshuis one of our go-to places. The museum was better than we expected and had way more besides the painting. . Seeing Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring in person was special but the other paintings were a huge bonus. For Gail and me, the short trip from Amsterdam to The Hague was well worth it and ended up being one of our favorite experiences of the trip.

We parked our RV at the Uitshuis P+R and took Line 4 from the P+R directly into the city center to the Mauritshuis in 20 minutes

Additional information

Visitors aged 0–17 can enter free of charge, but a ticket reservation is still required.

The Mauritshuis is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am - 6pm, and on Mondays from 1pm - 6pm; last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

Timed entry slots are assigned at booking to help manage visitor capacity.
