One of my wife's favorite movie is "The Girl with the Pearl Earring". So when we decided to go from Chicago to Amsterdam for our anniversary we wanted to make the Mauritshuis one of our go-to places. The museum was better than we expected and had way more besides the painting. . Seeing Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring in person was special but the other paintings were a huge bonus. For Gail and me, the short trip from Amsterdam to The Hague was well worth it and ended up being one of our favorite experiences of the trip.

Arrive at the Mauritshuis in The Hague at your selected time slot and proceed to the main entrance for ticket validation. Complete a standard security check, after which you’re free to head inside and begin your visit.

Large bags are not allowed within the museum.

Accessibility

The museum is wheelchair accessible; however, wheelchairs must not exceed 150 cm in length or 78 cm in width.

Additional information

Visitors aged 0–17 can enter free of charge, but a ticket reservation is still required.

The Mauritshuis is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am - 6pm, and on Mondays from 1pm - 6pm; last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

Timed entry slots are assigned at booking to help manage visitor capacity.

The Highlights Tour is offered in Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, Russian, Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese; full audio is available in English and Dutch only.
