The whole experience was well organised, informative and comfortable. All our questions regarding g history were answered and our stopover at Amamoor was very interesting. The cheese platters on the train were tasty and well presented and the meal at the Gympie station on our return was superb. Definitely outdid our expectations. Thank you and congratulations to all the wonderful volunteers. The ticketing process was easy and prompt, except we had a little trouble submitting our meal options. A great day!!!!

The VIP train trip was fun and the volunteers were amazing. I did not enjoy the lunch when we returned. I wouldn't pay the extra next time. Just buy your lunch when you return. Our preordered food was left out on the table at the trusty Rails Cafe and was cold and tasteless. I have also previously done the high tea on the Silver bullet- an excellent choice.

Take a seat in a classic redwood bogie and savor the local cheeses paired with a drink of your choice as you marvel at the old-school carriages of the train. For the entire trip, you have unlimited access to the bar on the train and a personal host to serve you.

Access the train verandah as you sip your drink – a luxury only accessible with VIP tickets. Enjoy idyllic scenery as the train winds through towering trees alongside the Mary River. Soon, the path will veer from the water towards the valley, revealing the serene landscapes surrounding Yabba, Kandanga, and Dagun villages.

Gaze at Rural Countryside

Grab a 2-course lunch including a beverage of your choice (beer, wine, soft drink) as you take in panoramic views of rolling hills, grazing cattle, and vibrant pineapple plantations. Check out the sprawling macadamia farms as you see local villagers harvesting nuts. Soon, the train will arrive at the quaint town of Amamoor, nestled within the tropical rainforest. Home to over 120 species of birds, this town is a sweet escape for all nature lovers. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars along! The rich flora will be the perfect backdrop to your videos as you capture the countryside. After spending some time here, you will head back to Gympie.
