Getting started
Your ticket grants access to all sanctuary areas, including Koala Forest, Kangaroo Reserve, and Platypus House. Arrive early and check in at the entrance to pick up your visitor guide and schedule.
What to expect
Meet iconic Aussie animals: See 130+ native species, including koalas, kangaroos, wombats, dingoes, and the platypus. Hand-feed kangaroos and visit Koala Forest and Platypus House.
Wildlife presentations & keeper talks: Join daily keeper talks to learn about animal behaviors, conservation, and unique species like the cassowary.
Relax by the river: Enjoy peaceful riverside walking trails surrounded by native plants and shaded picnic spots to unwind during your visit.
Souvenirs & dining: Browse the gift shop for unique Australian keepsakes and enjoy meals or snacks at the onsite café.
What’s not allowed
Glassware, scooters, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, skates or motorised vehicles, noise amplifiers, speakers, megaphones or musical instruments and alcohol are not allowed on this experience.
Smoking is not permitted inside the sanctuary. A designated smoking area is available outside. Guests can request a re-entry stamp when exiting to access this area without paying again.
Due to venue restrictions, pets are not allowed.
Accessibility
Most of the sanctuary is wheelchair and pram/ stroller accessible with alternate routes for guests with limited mobility. However, areas such as the kangaroo reserves and unpaved paths may not be suitable for wheelchairs.
Both wheelchairs and strollers are available for hire at $6 each. Contact the venue in advance to ensure you can reserve one.
Your guide dogs with valid ID are welcome in Lone Pine’s public areas, including the Riverside Café. Entry to the paid sanctuary requires advance booking and the visit is guided by a Lone Pine member, limited to 2 hours.
Children below 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult aged 18 or over.
Please note that koala holding experiences are no longer offered as of 2024. Instead, you can book a koala encounter where you'll have the chance to gently pet a koala and learn about them from knowledgeable keepers.
