Apr 20265/5Took my mom and little bro to the ruins this morning and…wow?? First time seeing Mayan stuff up close. Our guide (Alex? Or Alejandro? Oops, forgot) was SUPER into the history, but explained things in a way my 10yr old brother actually listened lol. Got a bit hot around noon so wear a hat. Didn’t realize you can’t bring snacks inside (had to eat granola bars in the parking lot). Still, the views over the ocean were epic!!Apr 20264/5Great morning, even tho it started raining. Guide provided ponchos (lifesaver). The crowds got kinda heavy by 11am but if you go early you beat most of em. Ruins are impressive but some areas fenced off, so couldn’t get close to everything. The beach right next to the ruins is GORGEOUS, so we brought swimsuits and took a dip after.
