The Vatican guided tour was honestly the best thing we did on our trip to Rome. Our English-speaking guide, Hillary, was absolutely fantastic. She had so much knowledge and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and really brought the history and artwork to life. You could tell she was passionate about what she was talking about, and she shared so many interesting details that we definitely would have missed if we were exploring on our own. It made the whole experience so much more meaningful and enjoyable. This tour truly made our trip to Rome even more amazing. I would 10000% recommend it to anyone visiting the Vatican!

An honest to God 11/10 experience, it was easily one of the coolest days of my life. I can't lie at first I was very stressed out about the whole trip from what I had seen online. But after we got through the first line of ticket checks (which wasn't long due to the slip the line pass) all my stress was relieved and I witnessed the most beautiful art and architecture I had ever seen. DO NOT PASS UO THE OPPORTUNITY! I would recommend this trip and this service to anyone!

Das Museum und die Sixtinische Kapelle waren ein nicht zu überbietender Höhepunkt unseres Rom-Besuchs! Dies auch Dank unserer großartigen Führerin Doris, die uns mit sehr viel Information und Hintergrungwissen und versorgt hat, uns mit sicherem Schritt durch die ziemlich überfüllten Räume durchgeschleust hat! Ein herzliches Dankeschön dafür! Alles perfekt organisiert, die Wartezeit war trotz des Regens und der langen Schlange erfreulich kurz! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Fred, our tour guide was the key. The right person wtih real knowledge and understanding of the time, culture, and history of the Vatican museums makes all the difference. There is so much to see it is impossible to take it all in. Having a guild to point out the best makes it real. We opted for the Basilica package as well and again worth it for the extra knowledge.

MERCI HEADOUT ! Toppissime cette visite avec Guide pour les Musées du Vatican et la Chapelle Sixtine (ce sont des incontournables quand on voyage à Rome). On a des explications très accessibles par le Guide que l'on ne trouverait pas forcément seul et autre avantage, on passe les files sans l'attente. Vraiment, nous avons adoré, çà vaut le coup de payer plus cher.

We were told to be at meeting point 10 minutes in advance before meeting time 14:45. Nobody was there not even at 14:45. Then we tried to write and call the company- nobody picked up ir answered in whats up, Then we called the another given phone number- after third time calling our guide to be answered and told that she is coming at 15:00 and the dont know and dont care that your comoany told us to meet at 14:35. So we waited... Our guide tell us interesting things about the chapel and it was the best part. But excursion was super short- it should be 2hours at the place but it was 1 and half an hour including 30min waiting in the line to get in and then another 10min-15min to get the audio guide. We paid 460eur per entrance( 3 adults, 2kids) and it was so overpriced for the service we got

What to bring

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes as the tour involves a fair amount of walking

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: knees, shoulders, and back must be covered for all guests.

Big bags and suitcases aren't allowed inside the attraction, but guests can make use of the lockers on site.

When in Sistine Chapel, silence is mandatory and photography is prohibited. Guides will provide all necessary and interesting details before entry.

Photography and the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the Sistine Chapel.

Power banks are strictly prohibited inside the venue.

Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue, with the exception of guide dogs.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.

While the tour is not accessible, the Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion.

Additional information

Please note: All guests must pass through airport-style security. During high season and peak hours, the wait time at the security check may be up to 30 minutes.

Purchasing this tour implies an agreement to stick with the assigned guide, without whom you cannot access the Vatican Museums. Opting out or missing the tour means losing ticket rights, without refunds.

Please be aware that during the Jubilee Year, certain areas of the Vatican Museums may be inaccessible due to religious ceremonies. Additionally, entrance to St. Peter's Basilica may also experience unannounced closures.

The Vatican Museums reserve the right to close any section, including the Sistine Chapel, due to unforeseen circumstances. The closure of any museum section does not entitle visitors to any refund.

Note: Michelangelo’s Last Judgement will undergo maintenance until March 2026. While the Sistine Chapel remains open, views of the fresco may be partially obstructed by the scaffolding.
