Seeing the inside aea's of the Opera house and getting to know the history behind it. Oh the views over the harbor were great too. Our guide had great knowledge on the history and design internal and external.

Our tour was 4.15 in the afternoon with guide Laura. She was delightful, knowledgeable and answered questions well. The concert hall was stunning and its versatility was well explained. I really liked the splendid use of woods contributing to the acoustics. 4.15 was a perfect time to enjoy the fabulous harbour view.

The tour guide was amazing - learned a lot about the history ilof the Opera House, lots of amusing anecdotes etc. It was excellent and well worth it. We're going back this evening for a recital by an organist we heard rehearsing during the tour.

The tour was well timed with the group moving along comfortably even though it included a wide range of age groups. The commentary was excellent and questions well answered. I had a 13 yr old grand daughter with me and we both enjoyed the tour. IT was also very interesting to learn the background information of some of the process, choice of materials and the story of the build. We enjoyed it all.

The tour guide, Freda, was delightful. She treated everyone with respect and provided a nice tour for our group. We were mostly on our feet but there were also times when we could sit. The Opera House itself is an amazing structure. This tour is well worth the time and money. Also, the free meal was a bonus. We ate ours before the tour to avoid the dinner rush.

It is really a nice way to learn the history of opera house even though I ever saw some on some books. Also, it is a nice chance to walk around inside to see every places. Recommend to do the guided tour.

Check in at the Welcome Center on the Lower Concourse level of the Sydney Opera House. After ticket validation, your guide will greet you and provide a brief introduction before leading your group inside.

Additional information

Guests will need to climb 300 stairs, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tours do not operate on Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day before 11am.

If you've opted for the meal upgrade, you can redeem it at the House Canteen or Opera Bar between 11:30am and 6pm or Midden by Mark Olive, between 11:30am-2:30pm for lunch, or 5-6pm for dinner.

Venue access is subject to availability at the time of your tour.

Please check in at the Welcome Center located on the Lower Concourse level of the Sydney Opera House.
