A beautiful sunny end of winter day in Melbourne. A gentle tram ride to the NGV. Giant sculptures in the foyer of the gallery get you in the mood for a cultural feast. Every inch of the Cartier exhibition was enthralling. Fascinating history, juicy gossip about the Cartier wearing divas and socialiates and Princesses. A portrait of Dame Nelly Melba was positioned beside the brilliant jewels and tiaras she owned. I caught her looking at me, as I took a selfie with her portrait.

Wonderful exhibition of exquisite jewellery. I admired the artist excellence in selecting the best craftsmanship of its time . Very wearable even for our time.

I went to the Cartier Exhibition at the NGV yesterday, the ticketing process made smooth by Headout. The jewellery was fabulous and so was the history of the Cartier empire, built up in early 1900s by three brothers. One travelled the world searching for the best sources of diamonds, sapphires, pearls, rubies etc. One brother designed the jewellery, the other was the businessman. I loved the photo of the Indian maharaja, covered in jewellery and looking so comfortable with it! The Cartier empire made exquisite jewellery for the wealthy of the world and it is our privilege now to see them displayed.

It was very comprehensive about the Cartier legacy.Some beautiful pie esters n display.For me the stand out was the second ion on individual an influence and Tutti Fruitti. The display highlighted three the craftsmanship and innovation of the Cartier designers and creators. I did feel it as just a little too many exhibits and maybe the watch and tiara section could have been reduced. All in all an extremely impressive and informative exhibition. Well worth the time to attend and absorb appreciate and immerse yourself self in this magnificent legend that you s Cartier.

It was special because of the exhibit by Cartier. The only downside was my friend whom supposed to be with me, who loves to see the exhibit was not able to come because of medical procedure. We ended up giving the ticket intended for her and her husband because the policy of re booking is in place. I could have hoped that they should be giving consideration given the reason of supposed rebooking. It was a fun experience for me, but could have been more special if my friend was there to experience it with me.

Having bought the tickets with headout made sure we had entry secured, and we did not have to wait in the que for tickets. The exhibition was mindblowing. The displays were wonderful. I also bought the Cartier book to read about the history, but you had to see the real jewels to appreciate the sparkling beauty of the jewels. The craftmanship of Cartier is amazing. There were hundreds of pieces, from big to small. You never see those jewels in real life, unless you are "royal"yourself.

Definitely not as crowded or awkward to get around as some, very easy to enjoy. Give yourselves plenty of time, 90 minutes wasn't long enough to enjoy the films so we'll be back!! Ps spot the tiara, we can only dream :))

Definitely worth visiting this exhibition. Very easy access without delays. I visited as it opened and it was a great decision as it got super busy around an hour later. The pieces were extraordinary!

A visual feast of beauty and craftsmanship inspired by cultures and art over the centuries. The highlight for me was the Sun tiara which literally radiated light and power .

Historic and extraordinary objects: Over 300 remarkable items, including precious jewels, historic gemstones, iconic watches and clocks—spanning from Cartier’s beginnings at the turn of the 20th century through to its most contemporary creations.

Iconic and celebrated pieces: See famous works such as the panther brooch, the mystery clock and the Tank watch that helped shape Cartier’s enduring legacy.

Creative process & design: Design drawings from the Cartier archives illuminate the creative process behind these masterpieces, offering rare insight into their exceptional craftsmanship.

Global collaboration: The exhibition, created by the V&A, London in partnership with NGV and Cartier, features loans from private and institutional collections across Europe, the United States and Asia, alongside highlights from the Cartier Heritage Collection.
