On ne peut visiter l'Andalousie, cette autre Espagne, sans aller à Cordoue et y visiter la Mesquida. C'était la dernière étape de notre périple de trois semaines. Cet édifice, construit lors de l'occupation musulmane, a traversé les siècles et échappé à la destruction car les rois catholiques lors de la Reconquista ont eux-mêmes été impressionnés par sa majesté. Ils ont transformé l'ancienne mosquée en cathédrale, mêlant les styles en un syncrétisme qui laisse sans voix ! Ainsi préservée, elle est un témoignage pour toute l'humanité qu'il n'est pas toujours nécessaire de tout détruire pour tout reconstruire. La visite peut être faite avec un guide. Nous avons choisi de la faire sans, seulement armé de notre guide du Routard, très documenté par ailleurs. De plus, mon épouse est professeur d'histoire. Ceci nous a permis d'aller où bon nous semblait et de nous imprégner de l'atmosphère particulière du site, avant de terminer par le jardin des orangers à l'extérieur.

The train ride from Seville was very short and pleasant. The cathedral / mosque was incredible! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiatic in sharing the history of the place. The tour ticket allows for visits of several other venues in Cordoba. Well worth the money! Cordoba is beautiful and easily walkabke. There are pleanty of good eating places and relatively inexpensive. Overall, if you go to Seville, a visit to Cordoba is a must.

La réservation impérative pour visiter la mosquée-cathédrale s'est faite t'es simplement sur le site web de headout . 1 heure après, les billets étaient téléchargés sur mon smartphone. Le contrôle du QR code a l'entrée de la mosquée-czthedrzle a été un jeu d'enfant. Cette visite doit absolument être faite ! C'est le plus bel édifice que j'ai jamais vu 🤩 Je recommande.

The infomation imparted on the tour was exceptional. Apart from learing about the mosque-cathedral, we learnt so much more about Cordoba and Spanish history. I would suggest getting this tour as early into your stay as possible, it will make the rest of your exploration of Cordoba much more intersting and exciting.

Alles sehr gut geklappt. Audioguides gab es allerdings direkt vor dem Eingang und in den Landessprachen um 5,-. Tolle Sehenswürdigkeit. Wir waren hier vor 40 Jahren mit weniger Touristen. Trotz der riesigen Menge sehr gut organisiert und eindrucksvoll. Den Trubel und Lärm muss man halt wegknipsen

The place is truly magical. You can almost touch history with your hands and walk through the centuries. Words cannot describe the moment when we found ourselves breathing in the aromatic blend of historical events that have unfolded through the ages and continue to resonate to this day and beyond. Everything was brought to life for us by a charming and exceptionally knowledgeable guide.
